Disability Rights North Carolina, the states’ protection and advocacy organization, is hosting several Listening Sessions between September 28 and October 1. The “Listening Sessions” are designed to allow to the public to express their concerns about disability access in their community. The North Carolina Chapter of the National MS Society works directly with Disability Rights NC on several advocacy issues of importance to people living with MS. Recently, the Society worked with Disability Right NC to recognize the 20th Anniversary of the ADA, ensure employment accommodations and improve North Carolina’s Medicaid Buy-In program.
All Listening Sessions are open to the public. Visit www.disabilityrightsnc.org for more information regarding the next Listening Session coming to a community near you! Being engaged and identifying areas to take action is critical component to being an MS Activist. Tonight’s session will be held in Durham from 5-7 p.m. at the East Regional Library (211 Lick Creek Lane).
