MS Awareness Week:Connections Being Made

Bookmark and ShareThe first two weeks of March are some of my favorite weeks of the year here at the National MS Society. Last week, fourteen Carolinians (North and South) and 300 more that probably want to be from these two great states attended the 21st National MS Society, Public Policy Conference to request funding for biomedical research and lifespan respite care. A very timely occurrence as Congress sets its budget priorities for 2013. Have you sent an email to your Member of Congress yet? Please send a note to support the visits that were made.

And this week, the Society recognizes MS Awareness Week. Governor Perdue and several North and South Carolina cities and towns have issued proclamations for MS Awareness Week. The Society is lucky to have so many volunteers engaged in their local communities, from volunteering on Disability Task Forces to serving on the city councils and county commissions. Greater Carolinas Chapter Board Member, Lori Bush recently blogged about the Cary Town Council's Proclamation, her MS connection and how she connects to stop MS, check her out here, http://loribush.org/2012/03/07/join-the-movement-to-end-ms/.
